I am often asked why I became an accountant – “You must be good at math” is a frequent comment. While accounting involves using “math”, it is more about interpreting it. The financial statements are speaking to the business owner – they tell the story of the business, both past and present; it is just a matter of interpreting the language.
Diane began her public practice career in 1992 when she received her CGA designation. She established Skidmore & Co. CGA choosing to specialize in providing tax and accounting services to owner managed businesses in all phases of growth. Diane is a highly regarded speaker in the area of business and personal tax. Her relaxed presentation style makes the seminars both informative and fun. In addition to the Understanding Tax newsletter, Diane writes many articles for Coquitlam’s City Soup.
Charity begins at home – with this in mind, Diane takes an active role in her community serving on many boards.
